Ugly socks

I finished the ugliest socks yesterday. I don't know what I was thinking when I picked out the color way or yarn content. They are mustard yellow, brown, black and white and ended coming out as a kind of camouflage coloring. Not my best decision but that make 3 pairs of socks in one month.

I started a Pi Shawl by Elizabeth Zimmerman. Last night was my first class and I really enjoyed it. The colors I'm using are brown and a variegated brown, green blend (much better than the yellow, brown camo). I hope to post pictures of the shawl soon so you can see the color combos.
My foot is feeling better so now I feel like getting into some knitting projects. I'll see how many I can get done in the next 8 weeks that I'm off work.

No more sock wearing for awhile- foot surgery

Just because I can't wear socks for awhile doesn't mean that I won't keep making a sock a month. With 6 weeks off I can make a good dent in my stash. Laying around with my foot up is pretty boring thanks goodness I have knitting.

Knitting retreat

Thanks to Pam T. from Knitters Palette for putting together a great retreat. What a wonder group of woman to spend time knitting, eating and laughing with. This spring it was at St. Croix State Park complete with a recycling serial killer in the closet.

Alpaca Expo

I went to the Alpaca Expo in Owatonna last weekend with my DH. The Alpacas were so cute and docile that I had to get some pictures and yarn. I tried to trade in my 3 cats and 1 dog for a cute alpaca but the owner wouldn't go for it. I guess they are really easy to take care of and made good 4H projects for kids.
