It's been a busy and hard summer. In July I was stung by a wasp on my shin and my leg swelled up to twice it's size, turned a deep red, and was very painful. The urgent care doc gave me some drugs and it took a month for the redness to go away. In Aug I had a major allergy attach and sinus infection. More drugs and I'm still dealing with it. I can't wait for the first hard frost.
Then in last September getting my garden ready for winter I was stung again by a wasp on my hand. At trip to urgent care, more drugs and I can bend my fingers again.

It's been a rainy summer and some of the plants in my garden have thrived and some have gotten root rot from all the rain.

I've also been working on finishing some knitting projects.
Halloween Fair Isle Scarf.

We had some fun times up at the cabin.
I can't believe it's October already.

Back at it again.

It has taken me a few years to get back to blogging. A lot has been going on. I started a part-time job at Minnesota Life College. I was taking care of my mom 20+ hours a week until she died in Oct 2014. I was not ready for how deeply and profoundly her death would effect me. We lost our dog Brittany a sweet little Cocker Spaniel in June 2015. She was 15 years old. It was too hard coming home without a dog to greet me so we got Jasper a lab mix in July 2015. I left MLC in Sept 2015 so now I'm really retired and very busy.

I want to take time to keep up my blog, which as you can tell I'm really bad at, but I want to keep my computer skills up so here I am.

Here is a picture of my year old puppy Jasper.
He loves to give hugs and roll in smelly things. I will blog about our doggy training and stories of Jasper.
Here is part of my garden with the deck we added this spring.
I'm going to try to add a new post every week.

2013

2013 was a lot different than I expected.
I retired on Jan 1st after working 29 years at the Wentworth Library.

After spending more time with my mom, ,family and I realize that at 88 years old she needed more help than we though. So now I take care of her 4 days a weeks.

I didn't keep up on blogging, technology and reading the way I wanted to so that is something I'm working on in 2014.

I did teach a lot of weaving class and learn new techniques. I plan to do more in 2014.

My garden did get some work and I have designs on what I want to do next.

I need to post more pictures on my blog and spending less time on the addictive game of Candy Crush.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and an amazing New Year.

My garden

With all the rain we have had the weeds in my garden are doing great. Luckily so are my flowers and small tomato and pepper garden.

This is my small veggie garden. Some tomatoes and orange and yellow peppers.
I would love to have a bigger garden but with our small yarn and the neighbors black walnut tree it's have to have any veggie that survive. Black walnut trees put out an acid in their roots that kill tomatoes and some other plants that I have tried but keeping the tomatoes in pot I can get some fresh veggies.
