Knitted items on the big screen and small

The knitting buzz is the sweater that the character Astrid worn on the show Frindge. It's red with buttons going down from the shoulder. Others what to know what the pattern is for the afghan that Olivia has in her house hanging over a chair. Non-knitter just want to know what the pattern is for the show.

It's very strange to non-knitters why we focus on these things. I once watch an episode of a TV show and was concentrating so hard on the pattern for two knitted hats that I couldn't tell anyone what the show was about.
I remember movies and TV shows that have someone knitting in them better than ones that don't. I thought that it was just because I'm obsessed with knitting but when I joined Ravelry I found out that I'm not the only one. There are a lot of us out there watching.

January socks

I just finished my January socks for the sock of the month group. The yarn was from the bottom of my stash so I wanted to use it up. My February socks are going to be make with a pattern from 2-at-a-time socks. The Be Mine with hearts. When I was looking through my stash I found 3 different shades of pink. I must have been in a pink mood.

Socks

I'm addicted to sock yarn. In a big way. I have made socks for my sister, Librarian DOA, Miss Phipps, my mom, husband and myself and still I have tons of sock yarn. What is it about sock yarn? Is it because it a small amount in fun colors? Is it because many knitter don't consider sock yarn stash?
I was on Raverly a site for knitters and crocheters and found a group site for The Sock of the Month group. I decided this group was for me. If I could do a sock a month I could get my stash down to maybe 2 or years of knitting ha ha.
So I started my Jan socks. I found the yarn in the back of my stash so I'm not sure anymore why I bought self striping yarn in red/orange, blue, black, and gray colors. Maybe it was on sale? Anyway I have started my Jan pair just a plain sock to show off the self striping and picked out a pink color for Feb and a green for March. We'll see how I do.
